Origins of Cloud679 – Fiji’s own Fiji’s first
During the rapid onslaught of COVID-19 and the resulting lockdowns, remote work became the new normal. It was during this time that Kastel recognized the significant challenges governments and businesses in the Oceania region faced when trying to adopt cloud technologies. The geographical distance from major cloud providers made it even more difficult for these organizations to seamlessly transition.
Understanding the need to bridge this gap, Kastel initiated a project to bring cloud infrastructure closer to home, making it more accessible not only for local users but also for neighboring countries in the region. A key focus of this project was to infuse the essence of Fijian hospitality into the solution, ensuring that it wasn’t just a technological offering, but one that embodied the warmth, care, and service excellence for which Fiji is known. This localized approach aimed to provide a more personalized and culturally attuned cloud experience for Oceania businesses.
